Happy New Year!

In Japanese, the word “arigato” (‘thanks’ in English) derives from the word “arigatai”, which means ‘hardly possible’. Gratitude comes from knowing that achievement or even sustenance is hardly possible without the help and support of one another in this beautiful, wild, intricately intertwined universe.

Wishing you all the best for this year..
Thank You for being You.
Last year was so tough, I could not have done it,
or all the years before without you,
near or far, directly or indirectly,
you are supporting me, and everybody around you.
So thank you, so, so much.

Love You.

Heaven on Earth

Not the green tea :p (I guess only people from Singapore would get it)

I’m not sure how many days have passed, we’ve all lost count and been basking in the paradise. Feels like months have passed, cuz we be living life to the fullest. We wake up every morning at 6:30, meditate for half an hour from 7, practice till 9:30, and have the purest breakfast harvested from the permacultured garden; fruit porridge with avocados, bananas, papayas, lilikoi or passion fruit, pineapples, oranges, etc. inside. Mmmhmmm. Me and my beautiful master twin chefs Dashka and Sushka cook up a vegan feast three times every day.

fruit porridge

After breakfast, we go for adventures every day, trekking through and to valleys, beaches, bays, mountains, caves, waterfalls, forests… Wild stuff.

We eat the freshest local wild/organic fruits and veggies. My favourites have been, oh, deary me, coffee! I never drink coffee cuz it’s always wired me up a little too hard but hey Kona coffee is so good I’ve been indulging and enjoying the high. And of course, passion fruit, papayas, bananas, avocados, coconuts.. Ok, just.. everything.

So grateful to be alive and to be able to receive the blessings of Mother Nature.

Ohayo in Hawaii

Ohayo (‘good morning’ in Japanese)!!!!

I’m here on the Hawaii Island aka the Big Island in Hawaii state.

I will be working for my teachers, Waylon and Shihoko, helping them out with whatever labour they need at their retreat.

It’s breathtakingly beautiful here, and so we will practice lots of breathing!

I could say something, anything, countless things to describe the beauty here or how blessed I feel, but I am just speechless right now. I’m just happy to be alive, and that I’ve made it here. I am broke, but I’d much rather be broke and traveling, than rich and stuck in one place. I do wish I could bring my family, and all my friends here. I’m working on it. Promise. My teacher Waylon does it, I’m going to do it!!

Gotta go, gotta get up and work and be of use!!

People fighting, killing, dying, crying, my thoughts are with you. I will not stop practicing and will not stop sharing the practice.

Yoga is a way of life, a tool to help all of us understand, and accept ourselves and each other. It is based on the 10 ethical guidelines of yamas,
• non-violence
• truthfulness
• non-stealing
• non-excess/hoarding
• continence

and niyamas,
• purity, clearness of mind, speech and body
• contentment
• persistent meditation, perseverance
• study of self, self-reflection
• contemplation of the universe, the supreme being

With practice, these guidelines will provide you with skills to choose and take ownership of your attitude, thought and actions in life. Not gonna lie, I’m bad at what most of those guidelines recommend. Slowly but surely, I am working on it.
