In Japanese, the word “arigato” (‘thanks’ in English) derives from the word “arigatai”, which means ‘hardly possible’. Gratitude comes from knowing that achievement or even sustenance is hardly possible without the help and support of one another in this beautiful, wild, intricately intertwined universe.
Wishing you all the best for this year..
Thank You for being You.
Last year was so tough, I could not have done it,
or all the years before without you,
near or far, directly or indirectly,
you are supporting me, and everybody around you.
So thank you, so, so much.
Today i was part of a charity event by Lululemon and we did 108 sun salutations! 108 is believed to be a powerful number in Eastern philosophies, as in Buddhism we are believed to have 108 egos in our minds. 108 sun salutations ought to purify us both physically and mentally!
Donation from the participants all go to the NGO Challenged Yoga, who provide yoga classes for the visually impaired and challenged. The founder, Chise, led the last few sun salutations with us blindfolded and her gentle voice really touched my heart.
I love that yoga provides us with opportunities to be good and happy. Through practice of yoga we cultuvate the strength to choose to feel good, think good and do good. Thank you so much for coming today.
We just had our graduation ceremony for the RYT500Zuddha Yoga 300 hours advanced teachers’ training the other day. We have learnt countless things from Waylon and Zuddha Yoga, here’s a few things we emphasize in our practice.
Tapas – austerity; burning away of accumulated impressions, ego, attachments.
Ahimsa – nonviolence; compassion towards nature, ourselves and all living things.
Bhakti – devotion; practice of unconditional love through singing and creating devotional music.
After 48 days in total of training over 6 months, and lots and lots and lots of singing, we have nothing but gratitude left. I’m grateful for my family, my teachers Shihoko and Waylon, Nirvana Yoga Studio, my fellow Zuddha teachers, friends and all living things in my life.
Just had a short but awesome morning practice of love and mindfulness this morning, and got to meet a whole bunch of new friends.
One of the many things I love about Zuddha Yoga is that there are many options and modifications to every pose, that you always have the freedom to listen to your body and choose the option to give yourself the healing and the challenge you need at that time.
Lots of different trees today like in a real forest.
